3D printing

The AMRIS Facility offers 3D printing capabilities for trained users.  Users who are not yet trained should contact Malathy Elumalai prior to making a reservation.

Policies

  • Each lab group using the RF lab printer should designate one lab member to oversee all of that lab’s printing needs.  Only the designated lab member may 3D print using the RF lab printer.

  • The RF lab 3D printer is for AMRIS-related projects only.

  • 3D printer use is by reservation only.  Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.   Individuals wishing to make a reservation should send an email to Josh Slade, copying Angie Fuhr indicating the time they wish to reserve as well as an AMRIS billing code for reference.   The printer availability can be tracked using the calendar at the left side of this page.

  • Groups wishing to use the RF lab printer on a regular basis should initially purchase a 1KG spool and store it in the RF lab. When the lab reaches 1KG of printing, the group should buy another spool.

  • Provided the above rules are followed, groups will not be charged for 3D printing.
