Attempt to Re-Energize Magnet
Feb 14 09:00am - Feb 16 09:00am

Charlie Smith, John Davidson's associate trying to energize the magnet. Made 120-amps on Monday, and left overnight. Charlie started to ramp the 600 MHz magnet from 120-amps on Tuesday morning, and it began to take current for a few minutes. However, it started to run itself down on internal diodes. It would have been at about 418 MHz for 120-Amps, and we tracked the loos of field strength with his sweeper/spectrometer. Estimated 6-8 hours to run down on those diodes. This likely confirms Bruker's bad magnet switch opinion from last August.
