Advanced RF Workshop

Micro imaging Volume Coils

The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory is sponsoring an advanced RF workshop on building Micro imaging volume coils,  the week of October 16-19th, 2023 at Maglab, Tallahassee, Florida. As part of the coil workshop, a 1-day CST Electromagnetic simulation workshop will be held in Tallahassee on October 18th, 2023. Please, see the flyer for registration details.

The content of this four-day workshop is designed to introduce graduate and post-doctoral students to the fundamentals of birdcage coil design, construction, and testing. The workshop will focus on technical details of coil design and construction, including electromagnetic simulations using CST, practical aspects of circuit design and construction, coil assembly, tuning and testing.

The RF Coil Workshop registration fee is $150 and spots are extremely limited.  Lunches and workshop supplies are provided during the workshop; however, all transportation, lodging, and other meals are the responsibility of each participant. Space is limited to 5 attendees.

The CST workshop registration is free and availability is based on first come first serve basis.

To apply for RF Coil workshop: Email your CV/biosketch and a letter of support from your PI/supervisor to Malathy Elumalai @ me09e@fsu.edu by August 30th, 2023 (may be extended until after the Labor Day Holiday). Due to space limits within the RF laboratory, excess applicants will be placed on a waitlist for priority contact regarding future workshops.

To apply for the CST workshop: Use the QR code to sign up for the individual sessions.

Work performed at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory is supported by National Science Foundation through NSF/DMR-2128556 and the State of Florida.
